How to Use:
 
Diagnosis: The veterinarian first confirms a diagnosis of severe bloat that requires immediate intervention.
Preparation: The site of insertion (typically the left paralumbar fossa, a triangular area on the left side of the animal) is disinfected and prepared.
Insertion: The trocar, with the cannula in place, is inserted with a quick, firm stab into the rumen. The pop felt upon entry confirms correct placement.
Gas Release: The trocar is then withdrawn, leaving the hollow cannula in place. This allows the trapped gas to escape.
Aftercare: Once the gas is released and the animal is stable, the cannula is removed. The veterinarian will then provide aftercare instructions, which may include monitoring the site for infection and addressing the root cause of the bloat.
