The Burdizzo Castrator 19" is a large, heavy-duty Veterinary Instrument designed specifically for the humane, bloodless castration of mature bulls, horses, buffalo, and other large livestock. Its substantial size and reinforced construction provide the necessary leverage and crushing power to effectively sever the spermatic cords of larger animals without the need for an open incision. This minimizes trauma, reduces the risk of infection, and facilitates a faster recovery.
 
 
How To Use:
Animal Restraint: The large animal must be safely and securely restrained, often in a squeeze chute or with a halter and stocks, to ensure the safety of both the operator and the animal.
Locate Spermatic Cords: The operator must carefully locate and isolate one of the two spermatic cords within the scrotal sac.
Position the Castrator: The jaws of the 19" Burdizzo are placed on the spermatic cord, ensuring the instrument is positioned about 1-2 inches above the testicle. Crucially, the scrotal skin is pushed to the side to ensure it is not clamped in the instrument.
Crush the Cord: The castrator is then squeezed firmly and held in place for a minimum of 30-40 seconds to completely crush the cord.
Repeat: The process is repeated on the other side, leaving a slight gap between the two crush sites to prevent damage to the scrotal skin.
